Join Crag Akademie (Kids 9+)

ÜG Members: $395 for 10 weeks
Non-Members: $475 for 10 weeks (non-members have an option to add a discounted 3 Month Trial Membership during booking)

To qualify for the ÜG Member's price, the individual taking the Akademie must be a current ÜG EFT or Prepaid Member at the time of enrollment.

Akademie Trial Membership: Non-members enrolling their children in the Akademie program may elect the to add on a Trial Membership as part of their Akademie enrollment: The Trial Membership allows the Akademie participant, their parent, and family to enroll as prepaid members for a full 3 months (throughout the entire time their children are in Akademie). Learn to Belay class is INCLUDED for all members 14 and over Akademie Trial Membership option as well as gear rental (at no additional charge). Akademie Trial membership is $125 for the Akademie participant $295 for one parent, $420 for parent + Akademie Participant, or $550 for the entire family (2 adults and unlimited children from their household). • This Crag Akademie is for children 9-13 years old.
• Everyone must complete our Release of Liability (and further certification documents that will be included in the booking confirmation email) prior to participating in any climbing activities at Übergrippen.
• Children enrolled in programs at Übergrippen (including but not limited to Akademie, clubs, teams, camps, after school programs) will be climbing with other children. Children will often be climbing partners with each other. This means YOUR CHILD WILL BE BELAYED BY ANOTHER CHILD ENROLLED IN THE PROGRAM AND YOUR CHILD WILL BELAY OTHER CHILDREN. If you are not comfortable with this, please do not enroll your child in our group programs. We offer private guided climbing (fees apply) and can also instruct parents on these same belay skills (enroll in our adult Learn to Belay class) so that you can supervise your child’s climbing experience directly.

• 10 weeks of climbing instruction led by a qualified bergrippen instructor (1 day per week for 2 hours each)
• Climbing Equipment (during the classes): Harness, shoes, and belay devices

Missed Sessions:

- If your child misses one or more sessions of the Akademie they may receive a complimentary 1 day punch pass (rental gear included), no other refunds or credits are offered.
     - To receive your complimentary punch pass for a missed session please send an email to youth@ugclimbing.com

Crag Akademie Rescheduling Policy: 

We always want to help make our youth classes a positive experience. If for any reason you find you cannot make a class that you have booked we are happy to try and help you reschedule for a different date. Rescheduling is always subject to availability and a $75 rescheduling fee.

 

Crag Akademie Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations are subject to the following cancellation fee:

• Cancellations made more than 28 days prior to the start of the class: $75/participant
• Cancellations made 14-28 days prior to start of the class: $150/participant
• Cancellations made 14 days to 72 hour prior to start of the class: $250/participant
• Cancellations made less than 72 hour prior to start of the class: 100% of class registration cost (sorry, no refunds can be provided for last minute cancellations)

The remaining balance after paying the cancellation fee will be refunded. Cancellations requests must be made by phone (720-592-0716) or email (youth@ugclimbing.com).

Life After Crag Akademie:

Children that complete the Akademie and are able to demonstrate proper belay technique during 3 separate belay tests may earn their Top Rope Belay badge which allows them to belay others (children 10 & under must have a back up belayer).

Children that complete the Crag Akademie, earn their Top Rope Belay badge, and get their coaches recommendation, are eligible to enroll in our Chamois (ages 9-11) or Ibex (ages 11-14) climbing clubs, or tryout for our competitive teams. However, completion of our Crag Akademie does not guarantee them a position. Club membership is with a coach’s recommendation and subject to space availability. TeamGrippen membership requires a coach's recommendation and invitation based on team tryouts (troyouts occur in January and August). If club/team space is full, your child[ren] may be added to our wait list and will be notified as soon as space becomes available.

Our Crag Akademie Program is a great way to create young climbers in your family and make a wonderful family activity, regardless of whether or not your child joins a club/team! Make climbing a family activity!!
